Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday (8:00 am - 4:00 pm)

Contract: Term time only, plus five training days (Term time + 1 week) - Permanent

Are you passionate about empowering families and ensuring every child has the best chance to succeed? The Federation of North Walsham Infant and Junior Schools is seeking a dedicated Pastoral and Family Support Lead to join our team.

In this vital role, you will work directly with children and parents to overcome barriers to learning and participation. Your focus will be on preventative and early intervention, supporting families before needs reach the threshold for specialist services. You will be a key link between home and school, strengthening relationships and supporting parents and children to enhance their educational outcomes.

• Safeguarding: Act as one of our Alternate Designated Safeguarding Leads (ADSL) for the federation.

• Family Support: Facilitate parenting interventions and support, providing impartial information on local services, and carrying out occasional home visits to support regular attendance.

• Intervention: Set up and run EHAPs (Early Help Assessment Plans) and deliver pastoral interventions to support social, emotional, and behavioral needs.

• Collaboration: Triage referrals, manage sensitive conversations, and work closely with external agencies

• Reporting and recording: Maintain accurate records of pastoral support and safeguarding incidents using CPOMS and Google applications.

• Pastoral Support: delivering pastoral support and interventions to our children

We are looking for a resilient, empathetic professional who can remain calm in difficult situations.

Essential Criteria:

• Experience working with children of relevant age and their families within a learning or social care environment.

• Demonstrable experience in delivering individual or group-based support.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to hold difficult conversations with both children and adults.

• Knowledge of social and emotional factors affecting a child's capacity to learn.

• Willingness to undertake DSL, Norfolk Steps, and Multi-agency training.

Desirable Criteria:

• Current DSL or Multi-agency training.

• Trained in Norfolk Steps ‘Step On’.
