British West Indies Collegiate (BWIC) is on the lookout for an inspiring, energetic, and academically driven Teacher of Chemistry to become part of our esteemed Science Department. Nestled in the stunning Turks and Caicos Islands, this position provides the chance to impart a world-class British international education to a diverse and motivated student population of 195.

As a school that emphasizes the development of the "whole student," we seek a chemist who can make intricate theoretical ideas accessible through engaging, hands-on learning experiences from Year 7 all the way to our prestigious Sixth Form.

The Role

• Curriculum Excellence: Provide high-quality Chemistry instruction across Key Stage 3, the Cambridge (CAIE) IGCSE syllabus, and the two-year A-Level program.

• Academic Leadership: Mentor senior students as they navigate the complexities of Organic, Inorganic, and Physical Chemistry, equipping them for competitive opportunities at top global universities.

• Practical Innovation: Take advantage of our well-equipped department and modern laboratories to lead advanced practical work, cultivating the precision and disciplined inquiry that epitomizes a true Spartan.

• Interdisciplinary Contribution: At BWIC, we appreciate versatility. Supporting other science disciplines or teaching a second subject area is beneficial, though not required.

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified Scientist: Possesses a recognized teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) and a strong Honors degree in Chemistry or a related Chemical Science.

• Dynamic Educator: An individual who infuses energy into the lab and has a passion for making Chemistry engaging and accessible for students across all age groups.

• A-Level Specialist: Demonstrated experience teaching Chemistry at A-Level is highly desirable, with a history of achieving outstanding examination results.

• CAIE Experience: Familiarity with the Cambridge International framework is preferred, although a commitment to high standards and professional adaptability is valued above all.
