Teaching and Learning Coach
About This Role
GEMS Schools in the UAE are seeking an exceptional Teaching and Learning Coach to become part of their team. In this pivotal role, you will provide strategic and instructional leadership aimed at enhancing teaching quality, learning experiences, and reading proficiency throughout the school. You will assist staff in maintaining consistently effective classroom practices, boosting student performance, and ensuring compliance with GEMS Teaching and Learning standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Principal and Leadership Team in managing the school and driving aspects of school improvement.
• Continuously enhance the provision of an outstanding educational experience at Metropole School.
• Fulfill teaching responsibilities as needed, adhering to the National Curriculum to promote teaching and learning across the school.
• Work together with school leadership to pinpoint both strengths and areas for improvement within the institution.
• Offer personalized, classroom-focused training for teachers, showcasing research-based instructional strategies and methodologies, and providing follow-up support as necessary.
• Facilitate professional development through Team Teaching, Lesson modeling, and organized Professional Development sessions.
• Review and provide feedback on essential documents, including the SEF, Lesson Plans, Schemes of Work, and resource materials.
Teaching, Learning, and Reading Excellence
• Observe classroom practices via learning walks, lesson observations, work scrutiny, and coaching discussions, adhering to GEMS Teaching & Learning policy.
• Assist teachers in crafting high-quality lessons that feature clear learning objectives, success criteria, differentiation, and effective assessment for learning.
Coaching, Professional Development, and Capacity Building
• Mentor and coach teachers and middle leaders to enhance instructional practices, classroom effectiveness, and student achievements.
• Develop and implement targeted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) that aligns with school priorities, TLAG, RLAG, and inspection requirements (KHDA / MOE).
Monitoring Impact and Using Data
• Assess the impact of teaching, learning, and reading strategies by analyzing attainment, progress, and engagement data.
• Support staff in utilizing assessment data to guide planning, interventions, and next steps for student learning.
Curriculum and Innovation
• Aid in curriculum development to ensure coherence, progression, challenge, and alignment with National Curriculum standards.
• Encourage innovative and effective integration of educational technology to enhance teaching, learning, and reading outcomes.
Leadership, Culture, and Compliance
• Contribute positively to the school culture, fostering teamwork and staff wellbeing.
• Assist with appraisal, performance management, and professional development discussions as needed.
