In this role, you will inspire, engage, and challenge students during their formative years by nurturing a play-based learning environment. You will be responsible for providing high-quality teaching and inclusive learning experiences that spark curiosity, nurture creativity, and support students in their academic, social, and personal development.
Main Responsibilities:
Key Tasks:
- Deliver lessons that inspire students to excel and achieve their best outcomes.
- Collaborate and work effectively with colleagues.
- Communicate proficiently at all levels.
- Build positive relationships within the school community.
- Work with fellow teachers to create engaging lessons that meet curriculum standards.
- Coordinate with colleagues and show adaptability in your role.
- Partner with parents to ensure the well-being and academic success of all students.
- Collaborate with curriculum support staff (when applicable) to enhance children's growth.
Specific Duties:
Teaching and Learning:
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the curriculum.
- Organize classroom resources and create displays that foster an engaging learning environment.
- Plan, prepare, and present lessons tailored to the diverse needs of all students in your class.
- Inspire students through dynamic and creative teaching methods.
- Assess and observe students in accordance with school assessment protocols.
- Reflect on classroom practices, lessons delivered, and student progress, adjusting the learning environment, planning, and curriculum as necessary.
- Work alongside other professionals, such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists as required.
- Ensure the principles of the Al Mamoura Academy Teacher and Learner DNA are integrated throughout the curriculum.
Assessment and Data:
- Take responsibility for the academic progress of your class.
- Fulfill assessment and recording requirements for student development using Target Tracker.
- Utilize assessment data to inform future planning, provision, and interventions.
- Provide updates to parents and guardians regarding student progress during Parent-Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
Behavior Management and Duties:
- Follow the school's behavior policy.
- Manage the classroom effectively, employing strategies tailored to students' individual needs that inspire, motivate, and challenge them.
- Build positive relationships with students, exercise appropriate authority, and act decisively within the school's behavioral guidelines when necessary.
- Serve as a role model, consistently demonstrating the attitudes, values, and behaviors expected of students.
- Maintain high expectations for behavior, fostering self-control and independence among all learners.
- Complete duties as directed within the school's policy framework.
Wider Professional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate as part of a curriculum action group to support planning, assessment, resources, and special events related to that team.
- Help organize and participate in school events, outings, and activities that may occur on weekends or evenings.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding student achievements and well-being, utilizing school systems such as CPOMS as appropriate.
- Contribute positively to the broader life and ethos of the school.
- Lead a weekly extracurricular activity each term.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant subject with a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
Minimum Experience:
- At least 1-2 years of teaching experience.

- Experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
