Kingfisher School is seeking an exceptional Deputy Headteacher to join our Leadership Team and help drive our vision of fostering a community where every learner is empowered and fully engaged in their journey towards independence, confidence, and success.

About the Role

  • Deputise for the Headteacher and lead the school when required.
  • Drive high-quality teaching and learning for pupils with complex SEND.
  • Support curriculum development, assessment, and staff coaching.
  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, working with external agencies to keep pupils safe.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, school improvement, and staff wellbeing.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, governors, and the wider community.
  • Assist the Headteacher in monitoring and supporting the work of the staff team to identify individual and whole school staff training needs and requirements.
  • Sharing of expertise ensuring the implementation of statutory and local frameworks for staff appraisal and performance management.
  • Motivate and enable teachers, including senior and middle leaders and support staff to develop expertise in their respective roles through high-quality continuing professional development.
  • Ensure that professional duties are fulfilled, as specified in the most recent Terms and Conditions of Service of Teachers, in line with teaching standards (2011).

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree
  • Proven leadership experience and a strong teaching track record.
  • Expertise in SEND and inclusive education.
  • Excellent communication, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and equality.
