About This Role

We are recruiting for a Teacher of Food Technology to join our staff team at Stoke Damerel Community College and Scott Medical and Healthcare College Campus. The successful candidate will motivate, challenge, support and inspire our students. They must also have relevant experience in a similar role with a proven track record and the ability to teach the Hospitality and Catering GCSE WJEC course.

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join the campus and further contribute to the life chances of young people in the school and across the Trust.

The successful applicant will need to have the knowledge, skills and creativity to be an inspiring and outstanding teacher.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriate
  • Working within the Food Technology department to contribute to raising student achievement and the continued development of the department
  • Teach Food Technology, Hospitality and Catering curriculum across the ability range to years 7-11
  • Identifying clear teaching objectives and specifying how they will be taught and assessed.
  • Setting appropriate and demanding expectations
  • Setting clear targets, building on prior attainment
  • To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a teacher/tutor.
  • To facilitate and
    encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to
    accelerate with their learning

  • To contribute to raising standards of student
    attainment across the school
  • To share and support the school’s responsibility
    to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth.

Compensation

£30,000 - £46,525 (MPS/UPS Scale)
*Estimated range based on regional data averages.
