Aldar Academies is on the lookout for a remarkable Teacher - Islamic Studies to join Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi, with a start date in August 2026.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks:

• Deliver engaging lessons that inspire students to excel and achieve their best.
• Responsibilities include:
• Collaborating effectively with colleagues.
• Communicating proficiently at all levels.
• Building positive relationships within the school community.
• Working alongside fellow educators to create engaging lessons that meet curriculum standards.
• Coordinating with peers while demonstrating flexibility.
• Engaging with parents to support student well-being and academic success.
• Collaborating with curriculum support staff (if applicable) to promote children's growth.

Teaching and Learning:

• Have a thorough understanding of the Curriculum.
• Organize classroom resources and learning materials, creating displays that encourage a positive and engaging educational environment.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that cater to the diverse needs of all students.
• Inspire students through enthusiastic and innovative teaching approaches.
• Observe and assess students per school assessment protocols.
• Reflect on classroom practices, lesson effectiveness, and student progress, making necessary adjustments to the learning environment, planning, and curriculum.
• Collaborate with other professionals, such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists, as needed.
• Ensure the incorporation of the Al Mamoura Academy Teacher and Learner DNA values throughout the curriculum.

Assessment and Data:

• Take charge of the academic progress of the class.
• Meet requirements for assessment and documentation of student development using Target Tracker.
• Utilize assessment data to guide future planning, resources, and interventions.
• Provide feedback to parents and guardians regarding student progress during Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.

Behavior Management and Duties:

• Follow the school’s behavior management policy.
• Effectively manage classroom dynamics using strategies that address students' needs to motivate and challenge them.
• Develop positive relationships with students, exercising appropriate authority, and taking decisive action when necessary in accordance with the school's behavior policy.
• Act as a positive role model, consistently embodying the attitudes, values, and behaviors expected of students.
• Establish high behavioral expectations, fostering self-discipline and independence among all learners.
• Perform duties as assigned within the school's policy framework.

Wider Professional Responsibilities:

• Participate in a curriculum action group, assisting with planning, assessment, resources, and special events related to the team.
• Help organize and take part in school events, outings, and activities that may occur on weekends or evenings.
• Effectively communicate with parents/caregivers regarding student achievements and well-being, using school systems such as CPOMS as needed.
• Contribute positively to the broader life and ethos of the school.
• Facilitate a weekly ECA each term.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant subject, along with a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.

Minimum Experience:

• A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
• Familiarity with the UK curriculum.
