We are on the lookout for a passionate and knowledgeable Biology specialist to join our distinguished secondary department.

The chosen candidate will be responsible for teaching students across various ages and capabilities, including GCSE and A-Level learners.

This role is part of our planned expansion to meet the increasing student enrollment and demand for our educational programs.

General Professional Responsibilities

The professional duties of a teacher encompass the following:

- Designing, preparing, and delivering captivating lessons, assessing student work, and providing progress reports in alignment with school policies.

- Using data to inform classroom instruction, tracking student progress, and executing timely interventions.

- Preparing students for public examinations and assessing them accordingly, while also participating in relevant meetings regarding the administration of these assessments.

- Engaging with parents through consultations and report writing.

- Attending Parents’ Evenings and Open Evenings.

- Maintaining discipline and fostering a positive learning atmosphere among students.

- Contributing to departmental meetings and participating in Open Evenings.

- Working collaboratively as part of a team to develop departmental policies, introduce curricular initiatives, and enhance teaching and assessment practices.

- Participating in administrative tasks to ensure the department operates efficiently.

- Keeping informed about curriculum developments, engaging in CPD opportunities, and contributing to personal professional growth.

- Collaborating with support teachers in the classroom.

- Mentoring a new teacher, if applicable.

- Assigning work for classes during planned absences and preparing materials for absent colleagues when necessary.

- Taking responsibility for a designated area related to curriculum, administration, or project innovation.

- Completing additional tasks as reasonably assigned by the Head of Department.

- Familiarizing themselves with the DSIB inspection framework and understanding the expectations for outstanding teaching and learning in the UAE.

- Supporting UAE initiatives and cultural expectations.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate must:

- Hold relevant qualifications.

- Have experience teaching in British Curriculum schools, particularly with IGCSE and A-Level courses.

- Possess a passion for Biology and the ability to effectively convey this enthusiasm to students.

- Understand assessment and examination requirements for KS3, KS4, and KS5.

- Be an exceptional teacher who can showcase outstanding practice and demonstrate student progress.

- Collaborate effectively within a team.

- Stay informed on advancements in their subject area.

- Be committed to professional development, actively seeking further training opportunities both within the department and externally to advance their career.
