RAK Academy - Al Hamra
Located in the southern region of Ras Al Khaimah within the Al Hamra community, RAK Academy – Al Hamra is a growing primary and lower secondary school that delivers an adapted UK National Curriculum from Pre-K to Grade 8, along with UAE MOE subjects. Our newly launched secondary school, which will cater to Grades 6 to 8, is set to welcome its inaugural class in August 2026. We are accredited by the British Schools Overseas (BSO), ensuring our educational standards meet those of leading international British schools, and we are fully prepared to conduct the ECT induction for teachers.
The Role
RAK Academy, Khuzam School is in search of an energetic, dedicated, and inspiring Librarian to join our team. This position is essential for creating and managing a dynamic, bilingual (Arabic and English) learning environment that promotes student inquiry, literacy, and research skills.
Essential
- A Bachelor’s degree in library science or library services.
- Experience in administering and operating school libraries.
- A deep enthusiasm for reading, literacy, research, and a fondness for both traditional and digital books.
- Capability to apply contemporary library strategies that align with curriculum objectives.
- Competence in leveraging technology to enhance teaching and learning.
- Confidence in managing library software systems.
- Ability to engage, inspire, and assist children, staff, and parents.
- Reflective practice combined with creative thinking and innovative skills.
- A positive and enthusiastic attitude towards working with children.
- Capacity to collaborate effectively with educators and school leadership.
- Willingness to actively partake in extracurricular activities.
- A strong commitment to ensuring that all decision-making prioritizes the best interests of our learners.
Desirable
- A robust and proven track record of leading library services in a bilingual setting.
- Familiarity and experience with the International Baccalaureate program.
- Understanding of the National Curriculum for England.
- Demonstrated capability to implement beneficial changes within an educational context.
- Experience in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is highly preferred.
