We are currently looking for a dynamic and dedicated French Specialist (secondary school) to join our esteemed secondary department.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching students across various age groups and abilities, including GCSE and A-Level.

This position is part of our strategic initiative to accommodate growing student enrollment and program demand.

General Professional Responsibilities
The professional duties expected of a teacher include the following:

- Teaching responsibilities encompass planning and preparing courses and lessons, setting and marking assignments, and assessing, recording, and reporting on student development, progress, and attainment in accordance with the school’s policies.
- Utilizing data to inform classroom instruction, monitoring student progress, and implementing timely interventions.
- Preparing students for public examinations, conducting assessments, and attending meetings related to examination administration.
- Engaging with parents of students through communication and report writing.
- Participating in Parents’ Evenings and Open Evenings.
- Maintaining discipline and good order among the students.
- Taking part in departmental meetings and Open Evenings.
- Collaborating with colleagues to shape departmental policies and practices, introduce curricular initiatives, and develop teaching and assessment methods.
- Assisting with administrative and organizational tasks to ensure the department operates smoothly.
- Staying informed about curriculum innovations, engaging in CPD opportunities, and contributing to personal professional development.
- Collaborating with support teachers in the classroom.
- Assuming responsibility for monitoring and supporting a beginning teacher, when applicable.
- Setting assignments for classes during known absences and for colleagues as needed.
- Taking charge of a designated area of the curriculum, administration, or a curriculum innovation project.
- Performing other duties as reasonably directed by the Head of Department.
- Familiarizing oneself with the DSIB inspection framework and the expectations for exceptional teaching and learning in the UAE.
- Supporting UAE initiatives and cultural expectations.

Candidate Profile
The successful candidate must:

- Possess relevant qualifications.
- Have experience teaching in British Curriculum schools, including IGCSE and A-Level.
- Be genuinely enthusiastic about the subject and effectively communicate this passion to students.
- Understand assessment and examination requirements for KS3, KS4, and KS5.
- Exhibit outstanding teaching abilities, demonstrating effective practices and student progress.
- Work well as part of a team.
- Stay updated on developments in their subject area.
- Be willing to pursue further professional development opportunities within the department or externally to advance their career.
