ROLE SUMMARY:
King’s School The Crown is situated on expansive grounds that feature exceptional educational and athletic facilities, allowing students to explore a wide array of interests. Our purpose-built campus, spanning over 40,000m2, is located in the heart of Cairo’s most prestigious gated community, The Crown, in 6th October City. The school serves students aged 18 months to 18 years and boasts state-of-the-art amenities, including a full-sized football field, a 400m athletics track, an 8-lane, 25m covered swimming pool with a learner pool, an indoor multi-purpose sports hall, outdoor multi-purpose courts, and a 522-seat Performing Arts theatre.
We are on the lookout for an exceptional, dedicated, and enthusiastic Director of Sport to join the team at King’s School The Crown, with a start date in August 2026.
• Lead teaching and learning initiatives within the PE and Sports disciplines.
• Assess the effectiveness of physical education and sports instruction, tracking student progress toward established goals across the school.
• Propel the mission and objectives of the PE and Sports program in alignment with the school’s vision and departmental development plan.
• Collaborate with the founding Executive Head to organize and oversee the school’s sports events and competitions according to the established events calendar.
• Take the lead in developing, implementing, and reviewing all relevant policies, contributing to the creation of necessary curriculum and reporting documentation as required by school leadership.
• Supervise the enhancement of the sports program, ensuring a diverse range of sports is available and accessible to all students.
• Manage resources effectively within indoor and outdoor sports facilities and all athletic spaces.
• Exemplify high professional standards in teaching your area of expertise at all times.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in using ICT for educational purposes.
• Academic-level fluency in English.
• Experience teaching Key Stage 2 to 3 students within the UK curriculum framework.
• A strong understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects necessary to meet students’ learning needs.
• Experience in delivering the UK Primary & Secondary curriculum and framework.
• Robust pedagogical knowledge and insight into PE and Sports instruction.
• Ability to teach GCSE and/or O level is a plus.
