The Role
In this role, you'll work alongside the Head of Faculty to lead our thriving Science department, driving excellence in teaching, learning, and student achievement across all key stages. You'll take the lead on curriculum development and enrichment activities that bring Science to life for our students, while mentoring and supporting colleagues to deliver outstanding lessons that inspire the next generation of scientists.
What We’re Looking For
- Successful teaching experience in Secondary Science (KS3 and KS4 essential; KS5 desirable)
- Experience of curriculum planning, assessment, and raising achievement
- Experience of supporting or mentoring colleagues (desirable)
- Experience of contributing to departmental or whole-school initiatives
- Excellent subject knowledge across Science disciplines
- Strong understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies
- Ability to analyse data and use it to drive improvement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire others
