Job Summary

The Admissions and Recruitment Officer plays a pivotal role in attracting, selecting, and enrolling mission-aligned students for TYIS, a leading K-10 international school in Tokyo. This position combines strategic marketing, relationship-building, and data-driven recruitment to meet annual enrollment targets while upholding the school’s academic excellence, diversity, and inclusive community values.

Duties will include phone, email, and form response, collecting and processing applications, payment tracking, working with teacher/principal counterparts in the admissions and testing procedures, on/off campus recruitment activities in Tokyo, Japan, with potential attendance at overseas recruitment fairs.


Qualifications


Required

- Bachelor’s degree (Education, Marketing, Business, or related field).

- 1+ years of experience in school admissions, recruitment, or sales/marketing in education.

- Native-level Japanese and business-level English (written and spoken).

- Marketing or relevant business degrees required, experience in sales, recruiting, high level of verbal and written communication, detail-oriented, proficient in multiple presentation software and tech skills preferred.


Preferred

- Experience with international schools in Japan.

- Knowledge of Tokyo’s expatriate and bilingual education landscape.

- Background in data analytics (Excel, Tableau) or digital marketing (Meta Ads, SEO).

Candidate Requirements

  • A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 2 years verifiable post-qualification teaching experience.
  • Demonstrable track record of excellent student outcomes.
  • A bachelor's degree directly related to your teaching specialization.
  • Clear criminal record check spanning the last 10 years of residency.
