The Role

We are seeking an exceptional and compassionate leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Assistant Headteacher, with strategic responsibility for pastoral provision, behaviour, welfare and personal development.  

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will champion a culture where every student feels valued, supported and inspired to flourish, embedding our Christian values at the heart of school life. They will lead the development of a strong pastoral vision and systems, ensuring that behaviour, attendance and wellbeing are approached with both high expectations and genuine care. 

Working closely with the SENDCO, families and external partners, the Assistant Headteacher will ensure early identification of need and deliver data-informed, preventative support that enables all students to thrive. 

The role also includes whole-school leadership of PSHE and Careers Education, shaping a personal development curriculum that nurtures wisdom, aspiration and compassion. Leading a dedicated pastoral team – including Heads of Year, the Transition Lead, Pastoral Manager and the Head of PSHE and Careers – the successful candidate will build strong relationships across the school community and beyond. They will play a key role in supporting students’ journey from primary transition through Key Stage 3 and beyond, ensuring that every young person develops the confidence, character and resilience to contribute positively to society.
