NACIS Shanghai is looking to recruit a Bagpipe Teacher, to lead the NACIS Bagpipe School Youth Team, the first Youth Bagpipe Team in China.

The School:
Founded in September 2016, NACIS Shanghai offers students a creative, challenging and rewarding learning experience. Students aged 6 to 18 years old are welcomed into our progressive and internationally minded school community. We offer a distinctive bilingual, blended learning programme leading to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Located in the Minhang District of Shanghai, the school has world class facilities that complement our innovative approach.
Our staff are from 10 different countries with significant numbers of colleagues from China, the UK, Ireland and North America.


The Role:
We seek a Bagpipe Teacher to join where your focus will be:
1) To demonstrate thorough bagpipe knowledge and be flexible within the Performing Arts department to teach different aspects and age group of the curriculum.
2) To ensure that planning, preparation, teaching, recording, assessment and reports meet the needs of the students and expectations of the school.
3) To promote high expectations for our students, designing learning activities that are aligned to our school’s Secondary curriculum and creating a learning culture where there are no limits to what can be achieved.
4) To foster an environment of respect within the classroom, facilitating learning through questioning and discussion.
5) To actively contribute to wider school development and growth.
6) Focused on developing a high performing department, our Primary and Secondary School performing art teachers will work together, using our collaboration with Juilliard, to give inspiration and guidance to all students and members of the secondary school.


The Successful Candidate will Possess:
1) Teaching experience in Bagpipe, and if you can contribute to teaching another subject area, it would be great.
2) Understanding of effective teaching and learning theory and practice of providing effectively for the individual needs of all children through classroom organization, differentiation and learning strategies.
3) A bachelor degree is required.
4) Team player and be flexible.

Keen to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, you will be a fitting ambassador for the school. You will communicate with confidence across diverse audiences and situations, using your expertise to build strong relationships with parents and students. You will be able to adapt quickly to our fast-paced international environment as well as meet visa-related restrictions for China, including a bachelor degree, non-criminal background check and at least 24 months of teaching experiences.
