We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour and Resilience Mentor to join our team and support students in developing positive behaviour and emotional resilience.
Position: Behaviour and Resilience Mentor
Location: Derby Cathedral School, Derbyshire
Experience: Working with young people in a voluntary or paid capacity, understanding safeguarding principles and practices, strong background in mentoring and coaching and working in a secondary education environment.
Role Overview:
As a Behaviour and Resilience Mentor, you will work closely with students who need additional support to manage their behaviour and build resilience. You will play a key role in creating a safe, supportive environment where all pupils can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.Skills and Qualifications:
- A genuine interest in working with children and young people- Strong communication skills with the ability to listen actively and empathetically
- Patience, understanding, and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team including teachers, parents, and external agencies
- Basic organisational skills for record keeping related to student progress (training provided)
- Willingness to learn new strategies for behaviour management through ongoing professional development
