About This Role

Calling all Civil Engineers! Help shape the next generation of civil engineers at an award-winning college.

Truro and Penwith College are proud to be National Apprenticeship Provider of the Year 2025 and #1 in the Southwest for apprenticeship achievement. With outcomes consistently well above national rates and Ofsted praise for our strong employer collaboration, this is an exciting time to join our Construction and Engineering team.

We are now seeking a dynamic and industry-experienced Lecturer in Civil Engineering to deliver inspiring, real-world learning to apprentices and T Level students at our Truro campus.

This post offers a unique opportunity to work as a dual professional combining your expertise as a civil engineering practitioner with the opportunity to develop the next generation of engineers through high-quality teaching and training.

You will maintain strong links with industry, ensuring learning remains current, relevant and aligned to real-world practice, while supporting apprentices and students to develop the technical skills, professional behaviours and problem-solving capabilities required by modern civil engineering employers.

The Role

You’ll play a key role in delivering:

  • Level 3 Civil Engineering Apprenticeships

  • T Levels in Design, Surveying and Planning

  • Specialist bootcamps in digital construction and construction management

You’ll also contribute to curriculum innovation, help develop higher-level provision, and work closely with employers to ensure our learners gain the technical skills and professional behaviours they need to thrive.

This is a role where industry expertise meets impactful teaching—perfect for someone passionate about developing future talent.

About You

You’ll bring:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline)

  • Relevant industry experience

  • Strong mathematical and technical knowledge

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to make complex ideas accessible

A teaching qualification is desirable, but we welcome applications from industry professionals willing to train as a lecturer.

Most importantly, you’ll be motivated by supporting learners, embracing innovation, and working as part of a collaborative, high-performing team.

What We Offer

Benefits include: 40 days annual leave plus bank holidays and College closure days, Teachers’ Pension Scheme, relocation package, free on-site parking, staff discounts, and a comprehensive wellbeing programme.

All set in Cornwall, one of the UK’s most beautiful places to live and work.

Closing Date: 5pm, Monday 30 March 2026 (if the right candidate applies, this post may close earlier than this date)

Application Forms only – CVs not accepted
