Brocklewood Primary School is seeking to appoint a committed, reflective teacher who believes every child can succeed and is driven to keep improving their own practice.
Brocklewood Primary School serves the Broxtowe Estate in Nottingham City. We are clear about the challenges our community faces and we are committed to removing barriers so that every child can access high-quality education and feel a strong sense of belonging.
Teaching and learning is at the heart of everything we do. Our evidence-informed principles ensure high expectations, inclusive practice and consistent classroom delivery. We prioritise strong foundations in reading, writing and mathematics, alongside a broad and ambitious curriculum that develops knowledge, vocabulary and confident communication. Our work is underpinned by our KRIS values, Kind, Respectful, Inclusive and Safe, which shape behaviour, relationships and expectations across the school.
We are proud of our rich wider offer. As a Music Hub School, Artsmark Gold and Forest School, and a Royal Shakespeare Company Associate School, we provide meaningful enrichment that broadens horizons and builds confidence.
Inclusion, safeguarding and pastoral care are strong, ensuring children feel safe, supported and ready to learn. We are an ambitious school, supported by a committed governing body, and driven by a clear moral purpose to achieve the very best for every child.
We are looking for teachers who create calm, purposeful classrooms, where strong teaching and high expectations ensure every child can learn and belong.
You will
• Deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching that reflects our principles of Environment, Design, Delivery and Inclusion, ensuring every child can access and succeed in learning
• Use clear explanations, strong modelling and careful scaffolding, checking understanding regularly and adapting teaching in the moment to meet pupils’ needs
• Maintain calm, predictable routines where every minute matters, creating classrooms that are purposeful, well-organised and focused on learning
• Take responsibility for the progress of all pupils in your class, particularly those who are disadvantaged, SEND or EAL, using assessment to respond quickly and close gaps
• Contribute to a consistent whole-school approach to behaviour, modelling the KRIS values in all interactions and using clear, calm language and routines
• Build strong relationships with pupils and families, showing professional curiosity and working support-first to remove barriers to learning and attendance
• Understand that attendance, behaviour and safeguarding are part of your role as a teacher, acting early and working closely with pastoral and safeguarding teams
• Engage fully in coaching, CPD and professional dialogue, contributing to a culture of continual improvement and shared practice across the school
In return we offer
• A welcoming community and a highly motivated, professional staff team that are driven towards continuously raising standards.
• Excellent professional development opportunities through an extensive range of network groups and other Transform Trust initiatives
• Calm and purposeful learning environments
• Excellent partnerships between pupils, staff, parents, governors and community
• A forward-thinking approach to teaching and learning throughout the school
• Career opportunities as part of a successful Multi Academy Trust
A visit to our school is warmly welcomed and has been arranged for Thursday, 26th March at 4pm. Please contact the school office to confirm your attendance.
