About This Role
We are looking for a responsible, reliable and well-organised person who is both enthusiastic and adaptable to join our friendly and effective team to deliver lessons during the short-term or unforeseen absence of their usual subject teacher and to support teaching and learning across the school.
This is a varied and interesting role that requires confidence and presence to educate our students across all subjects. The successful candidate will also need to be confident in dealing with behavioural issues within the classroom.
Experience in engaging with students in a classroom setting, covering core subjects would be desirable but not essential.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
- Supervise students, ensuring they are engaged in the classwork.
- Assist pupils with tasks as needed.
- Create a safe, positive, supportive classroom environment.
- Promote good behaviour, dealing promptly with any conflict and incidents in line with Budmouth Academy’s Behaviour Policy.
- Cover lessons in a wide variety of different subjects, ensuring that students learn in the absence of classroom teachers.
- Be flexible, resourceful and have a positive, ‘can do’ attitude with colleagues and students.
