About This Role

St Bonaventure's School is a Roman Catholic school, founded on gospel values and our boys are an important and integral part of the faith community. Christian principles are at the very heart of all that we do at St Bonaventure’s.

St Bonaventure's was judged as Outstanding in all areas in our most recent Ofsted Inspection in November 2022.

We seek to appoint an ambitious and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our popular all boys school as soon as possible.

Your main duties will be to cover lessons to support the education of the students at St Bonaventure’s as directed by the teaching staff at the school. To share in the whole school responsibility of care for students with regards to their well-being and discipline and to be responsible for classes of students as required during teacher absence.

We wish to appoint colleagues who: have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, are able to work effectively as part of a team, and are interested in supporting students with a range of individual needs. The position would also suit those considering a teaching career, wishing to gain experience in a mainstream secondary school, or seeking a post working with teenagers in a supportive role in a stimulating environment.

St Bonaventure’s is a popular provider of education within the London Borough of Newham and we are oversubscribed.

We are part of the Agnus Dei Catholic Schools Alliance.

We have a long and distinguished history of educating boys aged 11-16 in the East End of London. Our thriving co-educational 6th Form is ethnically and religiously diverse, attracting students from across many local schools.
St Bonaventure's is recognised by the DfE, Ofsted, SSAT and the Teaching School Council for our investment in improving student life chances and the development of our staff.

We believe that our students have an entitlement to the very best education, with high expectations for all in our community.
