About This Role

Arbor Academy Trust is a high-performing multi-academy trust dedicated to "Growing Excellence." We are seeking an aspirational, dynamic, and experienced leader to join us as Deputy Headteacher, with a specific focus on Inclusion and SEND. We are the 4th highest performing Trust for KS2 outcomes in England and the 2nd highest performing in London.

 

Whether you are an established Deputy or an ambitious Assistant Headteacher with a passion for equity, this role offers a platform to ensure every child, regardless of their starting point, thrives. While this is a one year fixed-term position, we are a growing Trust that prioritises talent retention, with a strong view toward potential extension.

 

Key Responsibilities of the role:

·       Strategic Leadership: Partner with the Headteacher to drive the school’s strategic vision, specifically leading the Inclusion and SEND strategy.

·       You will be expected to deputise…..

·       SENCO Leadership: Oversee the daily operation of the SEND policy, ensuring the school meets all statutory requirements and that high-quality provision is in place for all pupils on the SEND register.

·       Teaching & Learning: Lead on inclusive pedagogy, ensuring that "Quality First Teaching" is the foundation for all learners and modelling classroom excellence.

·       Curriculum Adaptation: Work with staff to ensure we teach our curriculum which is broad, balanced, and ambitious and is accessible to all pupils including those with SEND and those from vulnerable groups.

·       Staff Development: Mentor and coach staff in inclusive practices, fostering a culture where every teacher is a teacher of SEND.

·       Multi-Agency Liaison: Lead transitions and collaborate with external agencies, parents, and Trust-wide specialists to secure the best outcomes for children.

  • Deputise in the absence of the headteacher/head of school.

 

The Successful Candidate will be:

 

·       A proven leader with a track record of driving significant progress in Inclusion and pupil outcomes.

·       Hold the NASENCO qualification (or be working towards it) and have a deep understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.

Compensation

€35,000 - €50,000 (Pre-Tax)
