Due to our awesome deputy principal winning a principalship, an exciting leadership opportunity has arisen at St. Mary’s Catholic School, Gisborne. We are seeking a leader with proven ability to join our senior leadership team and work collaboratively to lead learning and support our staff through pedagogical change.
The role: You will provide senior leadership across the school, deputising for the Principal and driving excellence in teaching and learning.
0.4 FTTE teaching component
Key responsibilities:
Pedagogical coaching: Act as a "leader of learning," coaching staff in explicit instruction and high-impact teaching strategies.
Curriculum and assessment: Lead curriculum and assessment initiatives school-wide.
Team leadership: responsibilities for our Year 3–6 team
Administration: Utilise your strong organisational skills to assist in the smooth daily operation of the school.
Special character requirements:Applicants for this position must be able to maintain programmes and activities that reflect the school's special character (Schedule 6, CI 50 Primary Deputy Principal).
You will have strong pedagogical content knowledge of the revised New Zealand curriculum and be familiar with working within the Google for Education suite of tools.
New Zealand-registered or experienced educators with a proven track record in pedagogical coaching are preferred. We are not set up to sponsor work visas.
