About This Role
Doha Academy is a growing group of British-curriculum schools situated in Qatar’s cosmopolitan and vibrant capital city Doha. Part of the Al Faleh Educational Holding Group, Doha Academy seeks to provide an outstanding, accessible and all-inclusive K-12 education based upon Islamic values.
All Doha Academy schools are nationally and internationally accredited, and are in the process of preparing for the next stage of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (“NEASC”) improvement cycle as part of their “ACE Learning” pathway.
We are now looking for an enthusiastic EAL Specialist & Literacy Lead who will teach Primary & Secondary English in the main campus, Al Waab, and spend a significant proportion of their time planning a literacy development programme for the schools to support students whose main first language is Arabic. The role will involve supporting other teachers in their development of English as a Second Language practices across the school’s curricula.
The successful candidate will ideally have experience teaching Key Stage 3, 4 or 5 English in an international school setting where children’s main language is not English. Experience also in TEFL-type settings would be advantage.
The position starts August 25th with a two-year fixed term contract, with great opportunities for the successful candidate to grow and develop within the group.

Candidate Requirements
- A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
- A minimum of 2 years verifiable post-qualification teaching experience.
- Demonstrable track record of excellent student outcomes.
- A bachelor's degree directly related to your teaching specialization.
- Clear criminal record check spanning the last 10 years of residency.
