About This Role
The Role
We are looking for an outstanding practitioner/leader who is experienced and passionate about the teaching of reading and developing others. The role would be suited to candidates with experience of teaching secondary-aged pupils or upper KS2. Excellent subject knowledge in how pupils learn to read will be essential, and experience teaching phonics is desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinating and developing the team of Literacy Specialists to oversee the impact of their support in schools.
Maintaining links with a number of schools whilst supporting them to develop the teaching and learning of reading, particularly focused on support for their weakest readers.
Supporting schools with writing action plans, auditing their provision and implementing rapid change.
Liaising with the Hub leadership team to write reports and collate the information needed to meet DfE submission deadlines.
Maintaining communication with other English Hubs and across the Knowledge Schools Trust.
Coordinating, designing and delivering CPD to schools.
While this role will be based at the English Hub in West London, regular travel to schools across the Hub catchment area will be required.
