About This Role

Richard Huish College is seeking reliable and flexible Exams Invigilators to support the delivery of paper‑based and on‑screen examinations throughout the academic year. You will help create a calm, supportive environment for students while maintaining the integrity and security of all examinations.

Rate of Pay: £14.69 per hour (£12.85 per hour plus holiday pay)

Start Date: May 2026

Closing Date: 12 noon, Monday 30th March

Interviews: 8th April 2026

Hours and Availability

This is a flexible, term-time only role with hours dependent on exam schedules. Availability during key exam periods—May/June, November, January and March is essential. Full‑day, morning and afternoon sessions are available between 8:00am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students with additional needs, including scribing and reading.
  • Prepare exam rooms in line with JCQ regulations, including seating plans.
  • Set up on‑screen tests and manage exam materials and scripts.
  • Supervise students during exams, both in groups and one‑to‑one.
  • Ensure all exam procedures, documentation and security requirements are followed.
  • Always promote and uphold safeguarding and student welfare.

Person Specification

Successful candidates will be numerate, literate and confident using IT, with strong communication and organisational skills. You should be able to work independently and collaboratively.
