The Role
We seek to appoint an outstanding EYFS Class Teacher who has a strong commitment to teaching with enthusiasm, creativity and inspiration to a maternity cover post from September 2026 in our nursery, Little Glendower.
We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic person who is willing to embrace challenge and change and who thrives in being part of a team, and who enjoys contributing to a warm, close knit and genuinely collaborative team.
The person will provide high-quality teaching and learning within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), fostering the holistic development of young learners while contributing to the overall ethos and goals of Glendower Prep School and Little Glendower Nursery.
Teaching and Learning Excellence: Plan, prepare, and deliver a broad, balanced, and engaging EYFS curriculum tailored to the developmental needs of all pupils. Use innovative and creative teaching methods to foster curiosity, engagement, and a love of learning. Create a nurturing, supportive, and stimulating environment conducive to the development of literacy, numeracy, social, and emotional skills. Conduct assessments, including baseline assessments, and track pupil progress using data to inform teaching strategies. Promote pupils’ spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development through well-rounded learning experiences. Support smooth transition from Nursery to Reception and EYFS to Key Stage 1 as required. Provide a secure, inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported. Foster positive relationships with parents and carers, maintaining open communication about academic, social, and emotional progress. Promote positive behaviour, encouraging pupils to build and maintain positive attitudes toward learning. Maintain high standards of behaviour and discipline, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment. Organise the classroom to encourage independent learning and exploration. Organise a classroom that promotes and fosters a sustainable and modern approach and a calm environment. Celebrate achievement with creative classroom displays. Pastoral Care
