About This Role

Raffles American School (RAS) is seeking a highly motivated and innovative ELL teacher to join our Middle & High School team in academic year 2026.

Position Overview

Raffles American School Bangkok is seeking passionate, student-centered teachers to join our dynamic international school community. Teachers at RAS are expected to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that foster student autonomy, adaptability, and lifelong learning. Job Summary

Teachers at Raffles American School Bangkok are expected to:


  • Engage students and prepare them to become autonomous learners able to adapt and thrive.

  • Act as school leaders within their sphere of influence, supporting student growth and empowerment rather than hierarchical control.

  • Collaborate respectfully with peers, contributing to school improvement and modeling an appreciation for diverse perspectives.

  • Pursue continuous learning for personal and professional development, sharing knowledge with students and colleagues.

  • Develop curriculum that is responsive to the needs and strengths of students, leading curricular improvements.

  • Promote inclusion, believing all students can learn and striving for maximum inclusion in all classroom activities.

  • Teachers work from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm during regular school days, with typical weekly expectations including approximately 18 teaching hours, 5 break hours, 7 planning hours, 4 meeting/training hours, and 6 duty hours.


Specific Responsibilities

  • Uphold school policies and procedures; maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.

  • Plan and deliver quality lessons, differentiating instruction to meet diverse student needs.

  • Assess student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.

  • Communicate professionally with supervisors, parents, and students.

  • Model professional conduct in appearance, behavior, and punctuality.

  • Engage in professional development and stay current in relevant subject areas.

  • Support student wellbeing, collaborating with the Student Support Team as needed.

  • Foster parent involvement in their children’s education.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Fluent spoken and written English to collaborate effectively with the RAS community.

  • Teaching license eligible for full-time, permanent position at a US public school for the applicable subject/content and age level.

  • Licenses from other countries may be accepted if a US state offers reciprocity (including England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, Australia, South Africa, Canada, Gibraltar, New Zealand, USA).

  • Professional conduct and commitment to school standards.

We offer competitive salaries, with fully qualified and licensed teachers for full-time teacher roles. There is no additional housing stipend. Candidates will be reimbursed for their flight to Thailand and provided round-trip airfare to their home country at the end of each contract (overseas applicants only). Visa and work-permit expenses will be reimbursed by RAS. Medical, accident, disability, and life insurance are also provided.

Candidate Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree directly related to your teaching specialization.
  • Clear criminal record check spanning the last 10 years of residency.
