Northview International School (NVIS) is seeking a passionate and student-centered Middle / High School Social Studies Teacher to join our growing international faculty in Doha, Qatar.
We are looking for an educator who is committed to engaging students in meaningful learning experiences while fostering critical thinking, global awareness, and civic understanding through the study of history, geography, government, and contemporary global issues.

The Role
The successful candidate will teach Social Studies across middle and high school grade levels, delivering engaging lessons aligned with the American curriculum framework and promoting deeper understanding of historical and global perspectives.
Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering engaging Social Studies lessons aligned with the American curriculum
Using student-centered instructional practices that encourage inquiry, discussion, and critical thinking
Integrating technology and diverse resources to support active learning
Assessing and monitoring student progress through formative and summative assessment
Creating an inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported and challenged
Collaborating with colleagues to strengthen curriculum development and instructional practices
Contributing to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and community engagement
Qualifications and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in History, Social Studies, Political Science, or a related field
A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent)
Experience teaching Middle School and/or High School Social Studies
Experience with or training in an American curriculum framework
A commitment to student-centered learning and inquiry-based instruction
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Experience in an international school setting is desirable but not essential.
