About This Role

Job Purpose:  

We are seeking to employ a Head of Faculty for Work Related Learning for the Secondary School from August 2026. The successful candidate will oversee the full suite of subjects within this faculty: 

  • Business 

  • Economics 

  • ICT 

  • Computer Science 

  • And also coordinate all BTEC courses across the school. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of delivering high‑quality, inspiring lessons that motivate students to achieve their aspirations. 

This role requires an innovative, forward‑thinking leader with a passion for curriculum development and the ability to guide a diverse, dynamic team. You will work closely with Senior Leadership and contribute meaningfully to whole‑school improvement. 

Our GCSE, BTEC and A Level results reflect the dedication, high standards and hard work of our staff. Teachers are supported with high‑quality CPD, linked to both personal goals and school development priorities. 

The role is a demanding and varied one which requires: 

  • Collaboration with colleagues and parents 

  • Strong understanding of best educational practice 

  • Flexibility and strategic thinking 

  • A commitment to leading subjects central to the future of work and digital literacy  

You will: 

  • Be a qualified teacher 

  • Hold a relevant degree in Business or a related area 

  • Have prior experience of leading a department/faculty or be ready to step into faculty leadership 

  • Have proven experience teaching one or more of the faculty subjects to GCSE/A Level/BTEC 

  • Maintain an up‑to‑date knowledge of best practice in teaching and learning 

  • Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and curriculum awareness 

  • Take account of wider curriculum developments, particularly digital innovation 

  • Undertake ongoing professional development and share learning with colleagues 

  • Support and uphold the school's commitment to e‑safety

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
