The school serves the Dukhan township, comprising more than 40 nationalities, with approximately 1100 students. Our new purpose-built campus spans 27 acres with state-of-the-art learning environments including an 800-seat auditorium, an assembly hall for 1500 people, 3 sports halls, state of the art Science labs, peripatetic music rooms, outdoor swimming pool and an all-weather pitch.

We are seeking an inspirational leader with at least 4 years’ experience who has the expertise, skills and enthusiasm to drive forward the Science Faculty. 

You will:

·         Lead colleagues in improving pedagogical practice and delivering ‘quality first teaching’ providing personalised feedback and supporting professional growth.

·         Be able to build a culture of collaborative practice within the department as well as with colleagues across the school.

·         Strategically lead the development of the curriculum, ensuring any refinement is both manageable and impactful to develop students’ knowledge, skills, and conceptual understanding.

·         Ensure students achieve successful outcomes across the faculty, via effective assessment and interventions both within and outside of the classroom.

 

In addition, we are seeking an outstanding practitioner who:

·         Has relevant experience in teaching through to KS5 / A Level (Chemistry/Physics/Biology).

·         Be a reflective practitioner, committed to professional growth and development.

·         Has engaged with current research that can demonstrate knowledge and has experience of using evidence based pedagogical approaches within the classroom, to stretch and challenge all learners.

·         Has a strong understanding/interest in strategies to support EAL students.

·         Has a commitment to providing opportunities for extra-curricular activities and out of the classroom opportunities for extended learning.

Candidate Requirements

  • A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 2 years verifiable post-qualification teaching experience.
  • Demonstrable track record of excellent student outcomes.
  • A bachelor's degree directly related to your teaching specialization.
  • Clear criminal record check spanning the last 10 years of residency.
