We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed colleague to become our Head of Resource Base. This is a middle leadership role responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of specialist SEND provision within the school. We welcome applications from colleagues in both Primary and Secondary phases.

 

Working under the direction of the Assistant Principal (SENCO), the role leads the design, delivery and evaluation of specialist teaching, intervention and alternative pathways (including nurture, ASDAN and Preparation for Adulthood), ensuring that students with SEND achieve strong academic, social and independence outcomes.

 

The postholder will line manage staff, lead on intervention and curriculum pathways, and play a key role in driving high-quality inclusive practice across the school, while upholding Nishkam’s faith-inspired, virtues-led ethos.

 

Overview

 

The post will support the Assistant Principal- SENCO to ensure:  

·         Outstanding specialist provision within the Resource Base, leading to strong academic, social and independence outcomes

·         The effective delivery of specialist pathways and interventions, including KS3 nurture, KS4 ASDAN and KS5 Preparation for Adulthood

·         High-quality teaching and inclusive practice, supporting students with SEND to make better than expected progress

·         The effective leadership and deployment of Teaching Assistants, building a skilled and high-performing team

·         Robust systems for monitoring progress, evaluating impact and driving continuous improvement across the provision

 

Ideally you will be:  

 

·         An outstanding classroom practitioner with a strong track record of improving outcomes for students with SEND

·         An experienced and effective leader, with the ability to develop staff and build a high-performing team

·         Passionate about inclusive education and specialist provision, with experience of primary teaching and/or working within a Resource Base

·         Skilled in using data, assessment and intervention strategies to drive progress and impact

·         A collaborative and reflective professional, aligned with Nishkam’s values and committed to continuous improvement
