Raffles American School (RAS) is seeking a highly motivated and innovative High School Spanish Teacher to join our Middle & High School team in academic year 2026.
Position Overview
Raffles American School Bangkok is seeking a dynamic and student-centered High School Spanish Teacher to deliver IB Diploma Programme Spanish ab initio to Grade 11 and Grade 12 students, while also introducing Spanish as an elective within the high school program.
This is an exciting opportunity to both teach within the IB framework and shape a new introductory Spanish course, supporting the continued growth of the school’s languages program.
Key Responsibilities
• Teach IB Spanish ab initio to Grade 11 and Grade 12 students
• Support students through all aspects of the IB course, including assessment preparation and coursework requirements
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with IB Diploma Programme standards
• Develop and deliver an introductory high school Spanish elective, including ongoing curriculum design throughout the academic year
• Assess and monitor student progress, maintaining accurate records and providing timely feedback
• Collaborate with colleagues and the IB Coordinator to ensure program quality and alignment
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school community
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Modern Languages, Education, or a related field
• Teaching qualification or license preferred
• Experience teaching high school Spanish
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
Preferred
• Experience teaching IB Spanish (ab initio or equivalent)
• IB training (Category 1 or higher) is an advantage
• Experience in curriculum development, particularly for introductory language courses
• Experience working in an international or multicultural school environment
Professional Development

We offer competitive salaries, with fully qualified and licensed teachers for full-time teacher roles. There is no additional housing stipend. Candidates will be reimbursed for their flight to Thailand and provided round-trip airfare to their home country at the end of each contract (overseas applicants only). Visa and work-permit expenses will be reimbursed by RAS. Medical, accident, disability, and life insurance are also provided.

Candidate Requirements
- A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).

- A bachelor's degree directly related to your teaching specialization.
- Clear criminal record check spanning the last 10 years of residency.
