Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand's largest school with a roll of up to 24,000 ākonga (students) at any point of time. We provide personalised learning programmes from early childhood to NCEA Level 3.

We have a vacancy for a kaiako matua | senior teacher in an exciting role leading English across the Southern region.
Kaiako matua work collaboratively and you will have the opportunity to extend your leadership skillset by taking on a variety of roles in the rōpū. Kaiako matua are also attached to a cross-curricular kāhui. Kaiako matua are supported by the other kaiako matua in their rōpū, regionally by our regional leaders of learning, and nationally by our national leaders of learning.

As a kaiako matua, you will be able to thrive in a busy environment, show initiative, have excellent communication skills and be self-motivated. As well as this you will have experience in building strong curriculum learning in a range of contexts and practical experience in effective assessment for learning.
You'll be future orientated and understand how the use of technology, together with your enthusiasm, vision and commitment improves education outcomes for all our students, Māori and Pasifika learners in particular.
