It supports the diverse needs of young people in Sunderland many of whom are extremely vulnerable and challenging. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and suitably qualified member of staff who has the commitment to improve the academic outcomes of our young learners, as well as seeking to support them in understanding their own emotions and consequences of their behaviour. The school offers a supportive working environment, a strong commitment to CPD and career opportunities. We are a Centre of Excellence for Inclusion, and a Platinum Anti-Bullying School. The school promotes well-being and work life balance, and this is at the heart of the school’s ethos. The school has timetabled its week to allow whole school PPA on Friday afternoons, emotional well-being twilights, family friendly policies and other staff benefits, highlighted in our staff well-being policy.

PE Teacher MPS UPR SEN1 – Permanent

The Link School delivers full time alternative education to learners across the City of Sunderland. We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, visionary practitioner to deliver Physical education, Sport, Fitness and Outdoor activities to our Secondary learners.  The successful candidate will deliver high quality teaching at KS4.

As a PE Teacher, you will be joining an experienced and supportive school that has a real drive to see our pupils thrive and feel prepared for adult life. You will have small classes which will enable you to personalise the learning for the pupils you teach, delivering PE qualifications across the school including NCFE and up to GCSE level (as and when required).

Are you an effective practitioner with a proven track record of improving outcomes for learners?  Are you a teacher who can work with, and get the best from learners, who others find difficult or challenging? Would you enjoy working within a team where you will help learners find their confidence and rediscover their love of learning?

Applications are welcome from mainstream colleagues ECTs, and those currently working in Alternative Provision are interested in a career in alternative education.
