This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to join a well-established and successful Mathematics team at a highly regarded sixth form college in the Cotswolds.  Teachers at Cirencester College enjoy the same number of days’ holiday as teachers in secondary schools.  At Cirencester College, we deliver A level Maths, A level Further Maths, Level 3 Core Maths, GCSE Higher and Foundation Maths, and Functional Skills at level 1.  We are introducing A level Statistics, so we particularly encourage applications from candidates with a background in stats.  We also encourage all teachers keen to focus on teaching 16-18 year-olds to apply, including secondary school teachers with no A level teaching experience.

The post holder will be expected to:

  • Ensure students understand the content of all mathematical techniques on the syllabus by habitually delivering good lessons

  • Mark assessments such as tests, mock exams and homework assignments accurately and in a timely fashion

  • Closely monitor students’ progress and alert relevant parties to emerging issues

  • Demonstrate excellent organisational and interpersonal skills

  • Hold a good honours degree (or equivalent) in a related subject

  • Hold a PGCE or other level 4 teaching qualification, or demonstrate a commitment to obtain an equivalent qualification on the job

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to develop their passion for education within a supportive and high achieving area.  Candidates should have a commitment to providing high quality learning to enable all learners to achieve their full potential.
