The Role

The school is seeking a Maths Teacher to join the Secondary team on a fixed-term cover contract. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and well-structured Maths lessons, adapt teaching to a range of learner profiles, and contribute positively to departmental and whole-school life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Mathematics at the secondary level in line with the French National Curriculum

  • Plan lessons, schemes of work and assessments

  • Monitor and assess pupil progress and maintain accurate records

  • Participate in departmental meetings, parents’ evenings and school events

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, pastoral staff and senior leadership

  • Support pupils of varying abilities, including those with additional learning needs

  • Contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school

Person Specification

Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), CAPES, Agrégation, Master’s degree or equivalent

  • Experience teaching Maths at the secondary level

  • Native-level French preferred, or a good understanding of the French curriculum

Skills & Attributes

  • Ability to differentiate teaching for diverse learners

  • Enthusiastic, caring and approachable manner

  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills

  • Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

  • Team player with excellent communication skills
