Myddelton College is a leading co-educational, day and boarding school with pupils aged 4-18. We are situated in the historic town of Denbigh in North Wales. The school has 37 acres of pitches, parkland and play areas and beautiful views across to the Clwydian hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
We are seeking to appoint a highly skilled and enthusiastic music teacher. This position is full-time and would teach across all year groups from 3-13. The school has previously run GCSE and A level music as well as AS level music technology and has a fully equipped music classroom and adjoining practice rooms and technology sound room. The music teacher should be a competent pianist able to accompany our enthusiastic singers and instrumentalists. We are in the early stages of developing a range of groups across the year groups and there is ample space for the new employee to make their mark as part of our growing creative and performing arts faculty.
Alongside high academic expectations we have an excellent Learning Through The Outdoors programme, an active drama department, a CCF unit and we run all levels of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. We also run a full programme of extra-curriculum activities and sports teams.
Primarily though we are looking for a hard-working individual who is organised, enthusiastic and knowledgeable and who understands that a love of music can enhance learning across all areas of the curriculum. We are willing to take on teachers at any stage of their career and can consider part-time roles if this is your preference.
As a Microsoft Showcase School our lessons are delivered with the assistance of Teams and OneNote. Training is provided for this aspect and professional learning is encouraged.
Myddelton College is totally committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening, as all new staff will be subject to enhanced DBS clearance, identity checks, qualification checks and employment checks to include an exploration of any gaps within employment, two satisfactory references and registration with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
