We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspirational Music Teacher to join our successful department next academic year. There are excellent facilities for music, housed in a Performing Arts Centre, the Mick Jagger Centre. Music at DGS is a very popular subject both at GCSE and IB Diploma levels and over 300 students are engaged with our rich and varied extra-curricular programme.
The ideal candidate would need to be highly proficient on their instrument and demonstrate they have a broad subject knowledge.
You must be passionate about teaching, and you will be expected to collaborate with the Director of Music in planning and delivering lessons across a range of ages and abilities. You must be committed to delivering high quality teaching and learning, while promoting outstanding progress for all pupils. We will consider applications from newly qualified and experienced teachers.
Dartford Grammar School is one of the highest performing schools nationally at key stage 4 and key stage 5, with excellent facilities, designated as ’outstandingly successful’ in successive Ofsted inspections, most recently December 2022. Dartford Grammar School is a selective secondary academy for boys, which admits girls to its sixth form. There are six forms of entry to Year 7, and all of the students joining the school are from the top 25% of the ability range. The current roll is 1,576, including 659 in the sixth form. All students in the sixth form study the IB Diploma Programme.
