In Toto Ed Cambridge is a registered Independent Special School with an Alternative Provision for post-16 students, supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and mental health (MH) needs. We provide a nurturing, structured and supportive environment where students are encouraged to build confidence, develop resilience and re-engage with learning.

We are looking for a passionate and committed PE Teacher who isn’t afraid to get stuck in, work collaboratively and make a real difference to the lives of young people.

The Role

As a PE Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging and accessible PE lessons that meet the diverse needs of our students. Physical education plays an important role in supporting our students’ confidence, wellbeing and emotional regulation, and we are looking for someone who can inspire students to participate, challenge themselves and celebrate their progress.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured PE lessons aligned with the curriculum

  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students with SEN and additional barriers to learning

  • Set high expectations that motivate and challenge pupils to achieve their best

  • Assess, monitor and report on student progress effectively

  • Use creative approaches to support confidence, resilience and independence

Supporting Students

  • Build strong and positive relationships with pupils

  • Support students’ social, emotional and physical development

  • Encourage participation, teamwork and perseverance through physical activity

  • Provide additional encouragement and support for students who may struggle with engagement or confidence

Whole School Contribution

  • Be a team player, working closely with colleagues and support staff

  • Contribute positively to the ethos and wider life of the school

  • Support enrichment opportunities, school activities and student development

  • Be willing to go above and beyond to support students and colleagues

Safeguarding and Wellbeing

  • Promote the safety, wellbeing and positive behaviour of all pupils

  • Maintain a structured and supportive learning environment

  • Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns appropriately

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (desirable, but not essential as training can be arranged)

  • Degree in a relevant subject area

  • Strong understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Experience or interest in working with SEN students, alternative provision or post-16 learners

  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality and the values of the school

Compensation

€35,000 - €50,000 (Pre-Tax)
