About This Role
Job overview
Angel Meadow School is an independent special school for 11–16-year-olds with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Our pupils have a wide range of needs including ADHD, moderate learning difficulties, dyslexia and autism, with many also requiring SEMH support. We are committed to being a small, ambitious and nurturing community where every pupil is supported to achieve their potential.
This role will include teaching across both Angel Meadow School and Ace Education Manchester, our off-site SEMH Alternative Provision. Ace Education Manchester supports pupils who struggle to access mainstream education and require smaller group provision, mentoring and personalised support.
We are seeking an enthusiastic PE Teacher to deliver engaging, inclusive and high-quality Physical Education across both settings. You will work with small groups of pupils with SEND and SEMH needs, promoting physical health, resilience, teamwork and positive attitudes towards learning.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons tailored to pupils with SEND and SEMH
• Plan and deliver a broad and accessible PE curriculum across KS3 and KS4
• Promote physical wellbeing, teamwork, resilience and positive behaviour through sport
• Adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs, including dyslexia, ADHD and autism
• Use structured, practical and differentiated approaches to support engagement
• Track, assess and report on pupil progress in both physical development and personal growth
• Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff to deliver personalised learning
• Contribute to EHCP targets and review processes where required
• Maintain high standards of behaviour, safeguarding and wellbeing
• Attend CPD, training and staff meetings
• Contribute to whole-school activities, enrichment and off-site sporting opportunities
What We Offer
• The opportunity to work across two specialist settings with complementary approaches
• Maximum class size of 5 pupils
• A supportive, close-knit team with a strong focus on wellbeing and collaboration
• Tailored CPD in SEND, SEMH and trauma-informed practice
• Reduced marking and administration, with a focus on meaningful progress over paperwork
• Opportunities for career development and leadership as both provisions expand

All staff are expected to share this commitment and uphold the highest standards of safeguarding practice.
