Position Overview

Enishi International School is seeking an experienced, reflective, and inquiry-driven Primary Homeroom Teacher to join our Primary Years Programme (PYP) team. The successful candidate will guide student learning through a transdisciplinary, concept-based approach that integrates English, mathematics, social studies, science, visual arts, and personal and social education.

We are looking for an educator who believes in developing the whole child — academically, socially, emotionally, and ethically — while fostering curiosity, agency, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning within an internationally minded school community.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

  • Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme

  • Teach core subject areas through transdisciplinary Units of Inquiry

  • Foster student agency by encouraging voice, choice, reflection, and ownership of learning

  • Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning needs, abilities, and language profiles

  • Integrate inquiry, conceptual understanding, and real-world connections into daily learning

  • Use formative and summative assessment to guide instruction and support student progress

  • Provide timely, meaningful feedback to students and families

Assessment & Data-Informed Practice

  • Use a range of assessment strategies to monitor and support student learning

  • Understand and effectively use MAP Growth data to inform instruction, identify student needs, differentiate learning, set goals with students, and monitor academic progress over time

  • Maintain clear and accurate student records and contribute to reporting processes

Curriculum Development

  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and refine transdisciplinary units that connect multiple subject areas

  • Contribute to the ongoing development and review of the Programme of Inquiry (POI)

  • Ensure curriculum reflects international-mindedness, intercultural understanding, and local/global perspectives

  • Incorporate experiential learning, community connections, and field experiences that enrich student understanding

Student Support & Wellbeing

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment where all learners feel valued

  • Support students’ personal, social, and emotional development

  • Monitor student wellbeing and academic progress, communicating celebrations or concerns with coordinators and support staff

  • Be available for conferences with students and families as needed

Collaboration & School Life

  • Work closely with the PYP Coordinator and teaching team to align planning, assessment, and pedagogy

  • Participate actively in team meetings, professional development, and whole-school initiatives

  • Contribute to school life through clubs, events, field trips, camps, and student activities

  • Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in all school interactions

  • Fulfill additional duties as required to support the school community

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related academic field

  • Recognized teaching certification

  • Native-level English proficiency (spoken and written)

  • Minimum 3 years of classroom teaching experience at the primary level

  • Experience in IB, international, or multicultural school settings preferred

  • Strong understanding of inquiry-based and concept-driven learning

  • Willingness to commit to a minimum three-year contract

Professional Skills & Dispositions

The ideal candidate will:

  • Model the IB Learner Profile attributes in professional practice

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of child development across the primary years

  • Be highly organized and proactive in planning and communication

  • Show a growth mindset and commitment to ongoing professional learning

  • Be flexible, creative, and solution-oriented

  • Integrate technology meaningfully to enhance learning

  • Thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment

  • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and families

  • Be resourceful and innovative with available materials

  • Design learning that is engaging, relevant, and connected across disciplines

  • Understand and effectively use MAP Growth data to inform instruction, differentiate learning, set student goals, and monitor progress over time
