The British School of Quito (BSQ), a leading international school in the stunning Cumbayá Valley, is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Primary Teacher to join our dynamic and supportive team. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver creative, differentiated lessons that support diverse learning needs.

  • Deliver an adapted English Primary National Curriculum.

  • Support the delivery of our adapted English National Primary Curriculum, incorporating innovative and evidence-based teaching methods.

  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support student success.

  • Contribute to the continued development of our primary provision.

Qualifications

  • Passionate about teaching in Primary and inspiring a love of the subject.

  • Highly motivated, with excellent classroom management and organisational skills.

  • A collaborative team player, committed to continuous professional growth.

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a reputable university.

  • Hold QTS with a PGCE, BEd or equivalent (UK QTS preferred). Strong ECT applications are welcomed.

  • Fluent in English (first-language proficiency or minimum C2).

  • Experience in an international school setting is desirable but not essential.

About BSQ

  • Accredited by the IBO and Cambridge.

  • English is the principal language of instruction; we deliver an adapted English National Curriculum blended with the Ecuadorian curriculum.

  • Modern, well-resourced campus with small class sizes, supportive families, and a strong student-wellbeing programme—including an on-site doctor and two educational psychologists.

  • Convenient location within 20 km of Quito’s international airport with regular flights to Europe, the US, and the wider region.

  • Small classes and TA support.

  • Teach on average 34 periods of a 40-period week.
