Registered Kaiako

Lilliput Preschool is a small, family-owned early learning centre located in central Tauranga. We offer a calm, home-away-from-home environment with strong ratios, a close-knit teaching team, and a deep commitment to whanaungatanga and relationship-based practice.

We are seeking a thoughtful, reflective registered kaiako who values meaningful connection, intentional teaching, and working within a supportive, professional team.

This role would suit a kaiako who prefers depth over busyness, values collaboration, and enjoys being part of a centre where professional trust and wellbeing are taken seriously.

About the role

You will work closely with a stable team of kaiako to support tamariki’s learning and wellbeing in a nurturing, unhurried environment. Teaching practice at Lilliput is grounded in Te Whāriki, responsive planning, and strong relationships with whānau.

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds a current NZ ECE practising certificate (or provisional)
• Has a sound understanding of Te Whāriki and relationship-based pedagogy
• Communicates warmly and clearly with tamariki, whānau, and colleagues
• Is reflective, dependable, and comfortable in a small-team environment
• Values inclusion, professionalism, and emotional safety
