Do you have what it takes to join the staff team at Swalcliffe Park School?

Awarded “Outstanding Education & Care” OFSTED.

Would you like a job where your life skills help develop the lives of our amazing young people?

Being a Residential Care Worker at Swalcliffe Park School is much more than the job title suggests.  It’s about sharing your passion for life to mentor young people and have a profoundly positive impact on their progression in all aspects of their lives.

Our school provides specialist day and residential education and care for secondary aged autistic boys (10-19 years).  We offer excellent working conditions in a beautiful environment, including paid school holidays, opportunities for career development and staff training.

We have a fixed term staff position available working afternoons and evenings together with every other weekend in Care.  The role is primarily to support our students in a range of skills which will enhance their opportunities for independence and social inclusion.  We place high importance in the recording of outcomes for our students and in the monitoring of achievements; so duties also include the reporting on the well-being of students, report writing, data input and analysis and attendance at meetings.

The successful candidate will have

·       QCF (NVQ) Level 3 Health and Social Care (desirable for Care positions) or a willingness to study and attain this qualification in a designated timescale, funded by the school;

·       GCSE (or equivalent) English Language and Mathematics Grade C or above (essential) and be ICT literate; and

·       Experience of working with students with ASC (desirable).

If you would like to find out more about this opportunity, including to arrange a visit to the school, please contact Pip Porter, Head of Residential Care & DSL or Steve Ciballi, Assistant Head of Care on 01295 780302.

Closing date for applications: Monday 13th April 2026, 1200 hrs, and interviews/assessment centre will take place on a date to be arranged. The School reserves the right to close the advert earlier, if a sufficient number and calibre of applications are received.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  The successful candidate will be expected to undertake an enhanced disclosure.  We are an equal opportunities employer.
