Te Kura is seeking an experienced kaiako to join our Curriculum Wāhanga as a Technology Y1–10 Resource Developer. This fixed-term, part-time role will focus on refreshing, aligning, and developing high-quality technology learning resources that support ākonga across Years 1–10.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to nationally significant curriculum work and help shape how technology learning—across technological practice, computational thinking, and design and visual communication—is designed and delivered in an online learning environment.

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this position  

You will contribute to the review, alignment, and development of online Technology resources for Years 1–10.

  • Reviewing and refreshing existing Technology resources to align with Te Mātaiaho / the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum
  • Developing learning experiences that support:
    • Technological practice (understanding needs, developing outcomes, evaluating for fitness for purpose)
    • Computational thinking (problem decomposition, algorithms, data representation, and digital systems)
    • Design and visual communication (design thinking, visual literacy, modelling, and iterative design)
  • Ensuring resources are inclusive, accessible, and engaging for diverse ākonga
  • Supporting clear progression of learning and conceptual coherence across Years 1–10

Ko koe tēnei | About you

Registered kaiako (teacher) with a current teacher’s practicing certificate who bring:

  • Recent teaching experience in New Zealand primary, intermediate, or secondary settings, with strength in technology across Years 1–10
  • Knowledge and practical experience in one or more of the technology learning areas:
    • Technological practice
    • Computational thinking for digital technologies
    • Design and visual communication
  • Familiarity with Te Mātaiaho / the New Zealand Curriculum Refresh, including:
    • Integration of mātauranga Māori
    • Connections to key competencies and cross-curricular learning
  • The ability to design clear, engaging, and inclusive learning resources that reflect diverse learner needs, identities, and contexts
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to pedagogical and curriculum detail
