About This Role

Position Summary 

The primary purpose of this role is to establish and deliver a dynamic Russian language curriculum that fosters not just linguistic proficiency, but also a deep appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of Russian-speaking countries. The successful candidate will be key to promoting global literacy within our student body, equipping them with essential communication skills and a broader worldview necessary for success in a diverse, interconnected world.

General responsibilities:

  • To plan, teach and assess Russian language and literature (L&L) classes;

  • Understand the age specifics, appropriate teaching and learning approaches and have appropriate expectations for students;

  • Plan, prepare and develop Russian L&L curriculum and lesson planning;

  • Plan, prepare and assess student’s assignments (formative and summative);

  • Provide meaningful feedback to students, parents and school administration;

  • Create and maintain a safe environment in class;

  • Be willing to play an active part and collaborate with the Secondary team;

  • Inspire and motivate students in the subject;

  • Plan, create unit plans, teaching materials and resources that are appropriate to IB standards;

  • Attend school meetings, trainings and collaborative planning;

  • Be prepared to offer some afternoon clubs in Russian or Russian culture in the primary or secondary school;

  • Be familiar with and implement student-centered learning strategies, collaborative learning strategies, project-based learning;

  • Having an IB experience is an advantage.

Qualifications:

  • B.Sc/Master’s Degree in Russian Literature and Language;

  • Teaching Qualification;

  • Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in a mainstream school;

  • Teaching experience in IB would be an advantage;

  • Excellent class management skills;

  • Has fluent English level C1 

  • Familiar with technology use in teaching and learning;

  • Understands how children learn and can support their learning;

  • Can create and improvise and has a desire to co-create a child-centred curriculum and bring it to life;

Position Working Days/hours: 

Monday to Friday, 8:00-16:00

Recruitment process:

  1. Hiring team Panel interview (30 minutes);

  2. Trial lesson (60 minutes); 

  3. Interview with the Head of School, Principal of Secondary and Head of Faculty (30 minutes);
