School Counselor (Whole School)

Curriculum: Common Core / AP / IB

The American School of Bangkok Green Valley is a leading international school committed to providing a supportive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment for a diverse global community. We deliver a comprehensive Common Core, AP, and IB curriculum while prioritizing academic excellence, character development, and student well-being.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Counselor to serve across the whole school. The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive counseling program that supports students’ academic achievement, social-emotional development, and college and career readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students across all educational stages

  • Support students’ social-emotional development, resilience, and well-being

  • Guide academic planning and goal setting in alignment with curriculum pathways

  • Support college and career exploration at the secondary level

  • Collaborate with teachers and leadership to identify and support students of concern

  • Maintain accurate, confidential counseling records in accordance with safeguarding protocols

  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and well-being

  • Lead or support school-wide well-being, SEL, and prevention programs

  • Participate in multidisciplinary support teams and safeguarding processes

  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Education, or related field (Master’s preferred)

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a school counselor or similar role

  • Strong understanding of child and adolescent development

  • Knowledge of evidence-based counseling techniques

  • Experience working in an international school environment preferred

  • Understanding of Common Core, AP, and/or IB curriculum pathways is an advantage

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information professionally

  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
