About the Role
Aldenham Prep School Riyadh is seeking to appoint an outstanding and enthusiastic Teacher of Science to deliver high-quality teaching across Key Stage 3 (Years 7–9).
The successful candidate will be a confident general science specialist, capable of teaching Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, and committed to inspiring curiosity, scientific thinking, and a love of learning in all pupils.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing British international school and play a key role in shaping our expanding KS3 provision, including the transition into KS4 in future years.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics across KS3
Foster a strong understanding of scientific concepts, inquiry skills, and practical investigation
Use a range of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners, including EAL students
Maintain high expectations for student achievement, behaviour, and engagement
Curriculum & Assessment
Deliver the British curriculum in line with National Curriculum expectations
Prepare students effectively for progression into GCSE sciences
Design and implement formative and summative assessments
Track, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies
Practical Science & Safety
Plan and deliver safe and effective practical lessons
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the science laboratory
Promote scientific enquiry through hands-on experimentation
Pastoral & Wider School Contribution
Act as a Form Tutor (if required), supporting students’ academic and personal development
Contribute to the wider life of the school, including clubs, trips, and enrichment activities
Engage positively with parents and the school community
Collaboration & Professional Development
Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Science department and across the school
Participate in departmental planning and curriculum development
Engage in continuous professional development and performance management processes
Person Specification
Essential
Bachelor’s degree in a Science-related subject
Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
Experience teaching KS3 Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
Strong subject knowledge across all three disciplines
Ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons to a diverse student cohort
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Desirable
Experience teaching in a British international school
Experience preparing students for GCSE sciences
Ability to contribute to extracurricular STEM activities (e.g., robotics, science clubs)
