Full Time Science Teacher

We are looking to appoint a Science teacher to join our excellent team. The successful candidate will be an effective classroom practitioner with a track record of supporting students to make excellent progress. We would welcome any outstanding ECT’s who have the potential to become excellent teachers. Please let us know which of the sciences you teach in your application.
The Post
We are looking for a candidate who is
· An inspirational teacher with high expectations of students and themselves.
· Able to prove they have a successful track record of securing good outcomes for students.
· Able to teach science to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
· Able to teach up to Key Stage 5 – full support will be provided.
· Willing to generously give their time outside of lessons to students and colleagues.
· Actively supportive of the learning culture and values of the school.
· Skilled in inspiring staff and pupils.
· Committed to their professional development.
· Resilient, has presence, boundless energy and a good sense of humour.
Facilities and Resources
The Science Department is housed in its own block of eleven well-equipped laboratories with associated preparation and staff work areas. Staffing currently stands at 9 full-time posts and 5 part time posts. The teaching of Science is enhanced by the excellent support of three technicians.
Teaching and Learning
In Key Stage 3 has adopted the Springboard Science curriculum. In Key Stage 4 our students have the options of studying AQA Trilogy, Foundation or Higher or separate Sciences which is part of our Options provision.
At A-level, the Sciences are both popular and successful. We offer courses in Biology, Chemistry and Physics (AQA). The number of groups in the sixth form varies from year to year. Groups are usually shared by staff.

The school has a track record of nurturing the professional development of staff. The successful candidate will therefore be offered excellent professional development experiences.
