About Us

The International School of Macao (TIS) is a Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 school dedicated to developing socially responsible, lifelong learners equipped to make positive changes in our global community. Accredited by the Education Ministry of Alberta, Canada, our graduates earn a diploma recognised by universities worldwide. We offer both the Alberta curriculum and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma and PYP programmes to our diverse student body of 1,250 students from 40 countries. In addition to our Alberta and IB accreditations, we are currently a CIS member school.

Duties:

We are seeking an innovative and collaborative Computer Science teacher who is committed to preparing our students for the future by cultivating skills and attitudes that enable lifelong learning and care for the community. 


Duties for this full-time position include:

  • Provide high-quality Computer Science instruction using advanced pedagogical approaches
  • Support all learners with an inclusive approach
  • Experience of working with EAL students is a requirement
  • Collaborate with the Science department to develop cohesive lessons and units
  • Assist with Secondary and Elementary Robotics
  • Participate in student, school and community extra-curricular activities
  • We welcome applications from teachers with a strong background in improving literacy
  • Experience of working with Google Classroom and ManageBac is an asset. 
  • Experience with IB Computer Science is required. 

Qualifications

The successful candidate must possess a minimum of a Bachelor of Education with a focus in Secondary Education and a Major or Minor in Computer Science. Knowledge of and experience with inquiry-based learning is a prerequisite. Applicants must possess a Canadian provincial (Alberta) teaching certification or comparable qualifications from other countries in order to apply for a teaching position at TIS.

 

Child Safeguarding

TIS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be required to:

  • fulfil their role in promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all students in the school
  • attend regular professional development child protection and safeguarding programs and sign a Code of Conduct
  • report to the Designated or Deputy Safeguarding Lead any concerns they have for the welfare of a student


All new staff are required to be certified in first aid. There is a generous compensation package commensurate with qualifications and experience, as well as medical, dental and living allowance benefits.
